THE BEST LONDON-RELATED SCIENCETHING YOU WILL DO TODAY.
Okay. There is in London a big ugly cylindrical tower - looks a bit like a deactivated lightsaber - called the BT Tower. It’s got an interesting and weird history all of it own (it was an official state secret until 1993, despite everyone seeing it every day - oh England), but the best thing about it right now is that it’s taken the world’s most arse-shatteringly detailed panoramic photograph of London.
AND YOU CAN EXPLORE IT RIGHT HERE. Zoom, pan, zoom some more. Zoom some more. And wave goodbye to a couple hours.
Expect in the next few days a rash of naked people in windows, people caught in the act, etc etc, to rival the early days of Google Streetview. The first one I spotted was THIS CLEAR EVIDENCE OF A TELEPORTER MALFUNCTION just off Maple Street, but eagle-eyed Twitterer @MHaswell spotted THIS BIZARRE DIMENSIONAL VORTEX, a street or two behind the grand but innocuous Medical Association Building. Nothing there except a pretty little public garden, so - demon hunters - that’s the place to go.
Anyway. GO EXPLORE.
